South Carolina Debate

In tonight's South Caroline debate televised by CNN, Mrs. Clinton was booed, but unfazed by the America's clear disapproval of her campaign tactics, she pressed on, relentlessly, against Sen. Obama. She gave the air of being desperate, threatened, and forced to resort to an all out attack mode. Her negative attitude was almost indicative of a candidate ceding the state.

Barack Obama on the other hand, questioned whether he was running against Bill Clinton instead of Hillary Clinton, poking at the recent strong role that the former president has been playing on Sen. Clinton’s campaign.

Moreover, when Sen. Obama was faced with the suggestion that Bill Clinton was our first “black president” he responded gracefully:

“Bill Clinton embodies that and he deserves credit for that,” he said, to applause. Then he added a very funny line: “I have to investigate more Bill’s dancing abilities before I could judge whether in fact he was a brother.”

Clearly, Senator Obama has begun to pick up momentum. Obama’s performance on tonight’s debate strengthen his role of likeability as he moves into full swing with South Carolina voting on Saturday, and Florida only a few days later.
