Nevada Caucuses: National Delegate Majority for Obama

The Nevada caucuses on Saturday left Obama at a close defeat by Clinton. The 25 national convention delegates of Nevada were divided among its 3 congressional districts, where the Second Congressional District had 3 subdivisions. Even though Obama lost the public vote, he had won the majority of these national convention delegates: Obama 13 vs. Clinton 12. Obama beat Clinton in the rural areas of these subdivisions, although no national convention delegates were awarded.

“We're proud of the campaign we ran in Nevada. We came from over twenty-five points behind to win more national convention delegates than Hillary Clinton because we performed well all across the state, including rural areas where Democrats have traditionally struggled.” –Barack Obama, Las Vegas
